New online shopping facility - July 2008 Our new on-line shop is now available. The initial version of our online shop is now online, offering the DAIM range of garden equipment and some of our garden tools. Please click on the side bar menu option to order and buy online. "It might need new blades" - June 2008 In this case the customer is definitely right... The Right Stuff now Agent for Ebara Pumps - May 2008 The Right Stuff is now the Ebara pump agent in the Bridgetown area. Ebara manufactures a range of high quality pumps for domestic and commercial uses, and we shall be adding details and links to this site shortly. We will be supplying Ebara alongside our existing range of Pump Master pumps, picking from both ranges the best pump for our clients' needs. Chainsaw adjuster problem - March 2008 A customer brought in a chainsaw for service, and probable new bar and chain. It definitely needed the new bar and chain, but when we installed them we could not adjust the chain tension, and the bar was not square to the chainsaw. After a closer look we discovered the adjuster pictured below, all bitter and twisted. As the adjuster was turned it pushed the side of the bar in and out. Unless the nuts were very loose you couldn't turn the adjuster. We don't know how it got so bent, but as it twisted the bar relative to the chain drive it probably contributed to the sad state of the bar. A new adjuster fixed things nicely. What happens if a pump works against a closed head... - February 2008 This piece of 2" rural pipe came off a pump that had been unable to raise enough pressure to trigger the pressure switch and thus turn itself off (due to air leaks on the input). When that happens, the water stands still in the pump and becomes extremely hot. In this case that heat softened the pipe which burst (even though the pressure wasn't high enough to trigger the switch, it was still very high). New Products The Right Stuff is adding Tanaka and Oleo-Mac to its range. Tanaka is a Japanese made range of quality power equipment including chainsaws, engine drills, brushcuters, etc. that comes with a 5 year warranty. Oleo-Mac is an Italian brand offering power equipment in a lower price range but still with a 3 year warranty. We are also extending our grey water products through the Aquarius range of products. Click here for more information. My pump keeps losing its prime... I wonder why? Echo chainsaws - long life and reliability - December 2007 This chainsaw was brought in by a customer for a new chain. Its an Echo Little Champ top handle saw, and at least 20 years old. The owner says it has been completely reliable, and has never missed a beat. What is very noticeable is how much lighter the current equivalent Echo chainsaw is in comparison, useful in a saw intended for one handed operation.
The Bridgetown Show - November 24th 2007 The Right Stuff had a stand at the annual Bridgetown Show on November 24th. An extremely hot, but otherwise enjoyable, day. Press photos - October 2007 Some of the pictures used in local papers to mark the opening of the new shop:
